Chart of Accounts Importer

The Chart of Accounts Importer lets you import your chart of accounts from an Excel or CSV file. This is useful when migrating from another accounting system or setting up a customized chart of accounts.

How to Import

  1. Go to Accounting > Chart of Accounts Importer.
  2. Download the template to see the required format.
  3. Fill in your accounts data in the template following these columns:

- Account Name: The name of the account

- Account Number: Unique account code

- Parent Account: Parent under which this account falls

- Account Type: Asset, Liability, Equity, Income, or Expense

- Is Group: Yes/No

- Root Type: Should match the hierarchy (Asset, Liability, etc.)

  1. Upload the completed file.
  2. Preview the accounts and fix any errors.
  3. Click Import.

Tips

  • Ensure parent accounts exist before importing child accounts — or import all and use the hierarchical structure.
  • Use clear, descriptive account names in both English and Arabic if needed.
  • Verify that the Root Type correctly reflects the account's position in the CoA tree.
  • Import in batches if you have a very large chart of accounts.
