Stock Entry
A Stock Entry records any movement of inventory — receiving goods, issuing materials, transferring between warehouses, or adjusting stock.
Types of Stock Entries

Creating a Stock Entry
- Go to Stock > Stock Entry and click New.
- Select the Purpose (Material Receipt, Material Issue, etc.).
- Set the Posting Date.
- Add items in the Items table:
- Item Code, Quantity, Warehouse
- For transfers, add source and target warehouses:
- Source Warehouse (from where stock is taken)
- Target Warehouse (where stock goes)
- Click Save and Submit.
Creating from Other Documents
Stock Entries can be created from:
- Purchase Receipt: Receiving purchased goods
- Work Order: Issuing raw materials or receiving finished goods
- Delivery Note: Shipping goods to customers
- Subcontracting PO: Sending/receiving from subcontractor
Material Transfer
To move stock between warehouses:
- Create a Stock Entry with Purpose: Material Transfer.
- For each item row:
- Source Warehouse: Where stock is taken from
- Target Warehouse: Where stock is going
- Quantity: Amount to transfer
- Submit — stock is deducted from source and added to target.
Accounting Impact
- Material Receipt: Debit Stock, Credit Stock Received But Not Billed
- Material Issue: Credit Stock, Debit appropriate expense/asset account
- Manufacture: Debit Finished Goods Stock, Credit Work in Progress
- Repack: Transfers value between item accounts
