Chart of Accounts
The Chart of Accounts (CoA) is a listing of all accounts used to record financial transactions. It forms the foundation of your accounting system and defines how your financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) will appear.
Account Types
YousrERP organizes accounts into these main types:

| Asset | Resources owned by the company | Bank, Cash, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Fixed Assets |
| Liability | Obligations of the company | Accounts Payable, Loans, Accrued Expenses, VAT Payable |
| Equity | Owner's interest in the company | Share Capital, Retained Earnings |
| Income | Revenue earned | Sales Revenue, Service Income, Interest Income |
| Expense | Costs incurred | Cost of Goods Sold, Salaries, Rent, Utilities |

Creating an Account

- Go to Accounting > Chart of Accounts.
- Click New to create a new account.
- Enter the Account Name and Account Number.
- Select the Parent Account under which this account falls.
- Choose the Account Type (Asset, Liability, Equity, Income, Expense).
- Check Is Group if this account serves as a header (parent) only.
- Set the Currency (SAR for Saudi Arabia).
- Click Save.
Account Settings
- Is Group: When checked, the account cannot be used in transactions β it's only a grouping header.
- Root Type: Asset, Liability, Equity, Income, or Expense (set automatically by parent).
- Account Currency: Defaults to company currency (SAR).
- Freeze Account: Prevents transactions from being posted to this account.
- Report Type: How this account appears in financial statements.
- Tax Rate: Default VAT rate for this account (e.g., 15% for Saudi VAT).
Saudi-Specific Configuration
YousrERP comes with a Chart of Accounts template designed for Saudi businesses, including:
- VAT-related accounts (VAT Input, VAT Output, VAT Payable)
- Zakat-related accounts
- Standard Saudi expense and income categories
- Arabic account descriptions
