Sales Order
A Sales Order (SO) is a confirmed order from a customer for goods or services. It records what the customer wants to buy, the agreed price, and the delivery date.
Creating a Sales Order
- Go to Selling > Sales Order and click New.
- Select the Customer.
- Set the Transaction Date and Delivery Date.
- Add items in the Items table:
- Item Code, Quantity, Rate
- The Amount is calculated automatically
- Add Taxes and Charges (VAT) if applicable.
- Enter Payment Terms if different from the customer default.
- Click Save and Submit.
Sales Order Status

| On Hold | Paused for review |
| To Deliver | Submitted, awaiting delivery |
| To Bill | Delivered but not yet invoiced |
| To Deliver and Bill | Partially delivered and partially billed |
| Completed | Fully delivered and billed |
| Cancelled | Order cancelled |
| Closed | Order closed manually |
Creating from Quotation
- Open the submitted Quotation.
- Click Create > Sales Order.
- The Sales Order is pre-filled with items and pricing.
- Review and Submit.

How Sales Order Affects Inventory
- The SO can reserve stock quantities (not deduct, but mark as committed).
- When a Delivery Note is created from the SO, stock is deducted.
- The SO shows Ordered Qty vs Delivered Qty.
Closing a Sales Order
If a Sales Order will not be fully delivered:
- Open the SO and click Close.
- Remaining undelivered quantities are cancelled.
- The SO status changes to Closed.
