Report Permission Error

If a user receives a permission error when accessing a document or report, even though they have the correct roles assigned, there may be an issue with the permission configuration.

Common Causes

  1. Missing Document Type Permission: The role may not have explicit permission for that specific document type.
  2. User Permission Restriction: The user may have a User Permission that restricts access to the specific record.
  3. Permission Level Conflict: A required field may be at a higher permission level the user doesn't have access to.
  4. Document Stage Restriction: The user may have Read access but not access at the required stage (e.g., Submit).

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check Role Permissions

- Go to Role Permissions Manager

- Select the document type in question

- Verify the user's role has the necessary permissions enabled

  1. Check User Permissions

- Go to User Permissions

- Check if the user is restricted from specific records

- Remove or adjust the User Permission if needed

  1. Check Field-Level Permissions

- If the error occurs on a specific field, check its Permission Level

- Ensure the user's role has access to that level

  1. Contact Administrator

- If you're unable to resolve the issue, ask your System Manager to review the permission configuration
