Production Planning

Production Planning helps you plan what to manufacture and when, based on sales orders, material requests, and stock levels. It helps optimize resource utilization and ensure timely delivery.

Creating a Production Plan

  1. Go to Manufacturing > Production Plan and click New.
  2. Select the Company.
  3. Add items to plan in the table:

- Item Code: What to manufacture

- Planned Qty: How much to produce

- BOM: Which BOM to use

- Planned Start Date: When production should begin

  1. Click Get Items From to auto-populate from:

- Sales Orders: Produce to fulfill confirmed orders

- Material Requests: Produce items requested internally

- Work Orders: Re-plan existing work orders

  1. Click Save and Submit.

Production Plan Features

  • Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Calculates raw material requirements based on planned production.
  • Capacity Planning: Checks if workstations have capacity for the planned production.
  • Work Order Generation: Create work orders directly from the production plan.
  • Material Request Generation: Create material requests for raw materials that are short.

From Plan to Production

  1. Production Plan is created and submitted.
  2. Click Create > Work Orders to generate Work Orders for each item.
  3. Click Create > Material Requests for raw materials if needed.
  4. Work Orders are processed through the manufacturing workflow.
