Workstation

A Workstation is a physical location or machine where manufacturing operations are performed. Workstations are used to plan capacity and track production costs.

Creating a Workstation

1. Go to Manufacturing > Workstation and click New.
2. Enter the Workstation Name (e.g., "Assembly Line 1", "CNC Machine 3").
3. Optionally set:

- Production Capacity: Maximum units per day

- Hourly Rate (Electricity): Electricity cost per hour

- Hourly Rate (Consumables): Consumables cost per hour

- Hourly Rate (Rent): Rent/space cost per hour

- Hourly Rate (Wages): Labor cost per hour

- Hourly Rate: Total operating cost per hour (sum of above or custom)

1. Enter a Description of the workstation.
2. Click Save.

Workstation Costing

The workstation Hourly Rate contributes to the product cost:

• Each operation in the BOM has a time estimate (in minutes).
• Operation cost = (Time in minutes ÷ 60) × Workstation Hourly Rate.
• The sum of all operation costs is added to the product's manufacturing cost.

Workstation Capacity

• Set the Production Capacity to define how many units can be produced per day at this workstation.
• Production planning uses this to schedule work orders and avoid overloading workstations.
• Helps identify bottlenecks and plan capacity expansion.
