Item
An Item is a product or service that you buy, sell, manufacture, or stock. The Item master is the most important data record in YousrERP as it's used across all modules.
Creating an Item
- Go to Stock > Item and click New.
- Enter the Item Code (unique identifier) and Item Name.
- Select the Item Group (category).
- Select the Default Unit of Measure (UOM).
- Choose item options:
- Is Stock Item: Check if you hold inventory of this item.
- Is Sales Item: Check if you sell this item.
- Is Purchase Item: Check if you buy this item.
- Is Sub-Contracted Item: Check if subcontractors produce this item.
- Is Fixed Asset: Check if this is a capital asset.
- Click Save.
Item Types

Item Variants
If an item comes in different variations (e.g., sizes, colors), use Item Variants:
- Create Item Attributes (e.g., Size: S, M, L; Color: Red, Blue).
- Create a template item.
- Generate variants based on attribute combinations.
- Each variant has its own Item Code, price, and stock.
Inventory Settings
For stock items, configure:
Reorder Settings
- Default Warehouse: Where this item is stored
- Reorder Level: Minimum quantity before reorder alert
- Valuation Method: FIFO or Moving Average
- Shelf Location: Physical location in the warehouse
- Weight and Dimensions: For shipping calculations
- Barcode: Print and scan barcodes
Serial & Batch Tracking
- Has Serial No: Items like electronics where each unit has a unique serial number.
- Has Batch No: Items like food/pharma where production batches are tracked.
Item Pricing
- Item Price: Set selling and buying prices.
- Price Lists: Multiple price lists for different markets.
- Pricing Rules: Automatic price adjustments based on conditions.
Item Tax
Set the default Item Tax Template to automatically apply VAT or other taxes when this item is used in transactions.
Item Image and Description
- Upload an image for the item (displayed on website and in documents).
- Write a detailed description (used on quotations and website).
